Glass Barometer - A Few Options To Consider

Are you looking to buy a glass barometer? There is a range of glass barometers to choose from, at a range of prices, so it would be a good idea to spend a while researching the merits of those that are available before making any decisions to buy. Here are a few examples of glass barometers that I found for sale online.

1. On The Weather Workshop, you can buy Authentic Model’s Weather Glass Barometer-WB01 for $32.99. This is a sophisticated, teardrop shaped glass barometer that forecasts potential weather patterns up to 12 hours ahead. The design of this barometer, which predicts weather through the effect of atmospheric pressure on water in the spout of the instrument, is thought to be the world’s oldest.  Stormy weather is indicated when the water level in the spout rises under the influence of low atmospheric pressure, while a fall in the water level through the effect of high pressure indicates good weather up ahead. It comes complete with a brass bracket and some screws so you can mount it on a wall.

2. At Ambient Weather, you can buy the Adie W002-013 Water Glass Barometer for $74.96. This works on the same ancient principle as does the Authentic Model barometer, with high pressure pushing the fluid level down and low pressure allowing it to rise. This glass barometer is fitted with a brass catcher to contain any water that may overflow on days with extremely low pressure, such as when there are thunderstorms.  It is fixed to a plaque with a nautical theme, on a blue wood frame measuring 17.5 inches long x 6 inches wide.

3. On Klockit, you can find a Storm Glass Barometer for sale for either $16.99 or $11.99, depending on your requirements. For $16.99 you get a teardrop-shaped 14 x 6-inch wood plaque made out of Chinaberry, a handblown teardrop-shaped glass barometer, a glass drip cup, and a filling syringe all ready made up. For $11.99 you get the unassembled components. Complete instructions for use are included with both packages.

4. At secure [dot] sciencecompany [dot] com, you can buy a Hanging Weather Glass Barometer with Gothic Bracket for $28.95. This is a medieval design glass barometer measuring 17.5 inches high. It works on the same simple principles as the other barometers I’ve described. It also has a teardrop-shaped glass water container with a spout. This container is affixed to a narrow metal plaque that is topped with a Fleur-de-lis design and has a scallop-shaped drip tray under the glass. It also comes complete with installation instructions.

These few examples should have given you an idea of the sort of thing to expect when you go online looking for a glass barometer. If you don’t like any of these barometers, a little time spent browsing the Internet will produce many more.
